Galaxy Note 10 high performance mode increases system speed, or so it says

All Samsung phones in the last couple of years have come with various power saving modes to allow users to enhance battery life on their device when they demand it. The power saving modes have gone through various revisions over time, and on current Galaxy devices, you become four power modes to choose from on Samsung's flagship devices. There's the default Optimized fashion, a medium power saving mode, a maximum power saving mode, and a loftier performance mode.

The high functioning fashion would suggest a device would offer higher levels of performance over the other modes, but up until the Galaxy S10, the then-chosen high operation mode would only increase the brightness of the screen and set up the screen resolution to maximum (all Galaxy flagships come set to Total Hd/HD+ resolution out of the box). It didn't really make a lot of sense, and Samsung finally realized that and has updated the loftier performance mode to also increase the system speed on the Galaxy Note x and Galaxy Annotation ten+.

It doesn't really seem to amend functioning, though

The screenshot below shows y'all the high performance style screen on the Milky way S10+ (left) next to the Galaxy Note 10+. Discover how the Note x+ mentions "higher system speed" in addition to maximum screen effulgence and resolution? Yep, the Galaxy S10's high functioning mode, or the i plant on older flagships like the Milky way S9, is pretty much a farce if you go by what those words would generally mean for a smartphone, something Samsung has stock-still with the Galaxy Note ten/ten+.

Now, before you lot blitz to enable the high performance style on your Galaxy Note 10 or Note 10+, nosotros should tell you that the mode doesn't actually seem to increase functioning — or impact battery life — in any noticeable way. Apps still install and launch at the aforementioned speed, the interface animations don't go any smoother, and games don't run whatever faster. Nosotros tried using one of our Note 10+'s a total day with the higher operation mode enabled and couldn't see whatever improvement whatsoever.

Possibly benchmarks would benefit from this mode, but that would make it something for showing off, not something that would make your day-to-24-hour interval user experience better. And maybe nosotros shouldn't be surprised that is the case. Perhaps Samsung simply decided to throw in the "higher system speed" text in there to non come off equally foolish for calling a mode that increases screen effulgence and resolution a high operation style instead of making some under the hood changes that would actually increment overall performance.

Try the high performance style for yourself

If you desire to effort out the loftier performance ability fashion on your Galaxy Annotation 10 or Annotation 10+, open the Settings app, tapDevice care, selectBombardment, then tapPower mode. Here, selectHigh performanceand striking theApply button. You can also change the power mode using its toggle in the notification shade (drag the notification shade down twice to see the total list of toggles).

Do let us know if yous come across any performance comeback once y'all've enabled that loftier performance way on your Milky way Note 10 or Notation 10+!
